Why Squats Are King (And Why You’re Missing Out if You’re Not Doing Them)
Listen up, if you’re skipping squats, you’re selling yourself short. Period. Squats are hands down the most important lift you can put in your training program. They burn fat, build serious muscle, and naturally boost testosterone like nothing else. Plus, it’s the most functional movement out there. You use it in life, not just the gym.
That’s why in this video I break it down for you. The proper way to squat, how to stretch your tight hips before you get under the bar, and why form is everything. No ego lifting, no half reps, just straight up textbook squats.
Why Squats Hit Different
Let’s keep it real. Squats aren’t just about legs. They hit your core, your back, your structure, everything. Done right, they protect your knees, not ruin them. That whole “squats are bad for your knees” myth is dead wrong. Ask anyone who’s been through PT after a knee injury. What do they do? Squats.
And beyond the physical, squats toughen you up mentally. You’re literally putting heavy weight on your back, dropping into your weakest position, and then standing back up strong. That builds resilience, not just muscle. Stress resistance. Grit. The kind of toughness that carries over to everything else in life.
Don’t Skip the Small Stuff
Before you even load a plate, stretch those hips. Sit down in the squat position, push your knees out with your elbows, and get loose. Then start light. I warm up with just the bar like it’s heavy, focusing 100 percent on form. Chest up, back straight, hips below parallel. From there, stack the weight and keep moving.
Hydration Equals Performance
Now let’s talk recovery and performance. I don’t step into the gym without my Hydroglyph from Ambrosia Collective. That’s my go to intra workout drink. Why? Because it’s not just hydration. It’s got aminos and myHMB, so while I’m squatting I’m staying hydrated, protecting muscle, and actually building more of it. If you’re serious about squats or any heavy lift, don’t sleep on hydration. It’s a game changer.
Bottom Line
You can train legs a hundred different ways, but squats are non negotiable. Heavy or light, bodyweight or loaded, just do them. Build the habit, nail the form, and watch how much stronger you get in the gym and in life.
If you’re not squatting, you’re leaving gains and toughness on the table.
So stop scrolling, hit play on the video, and let’s squat.
